Abstract
Uzbekistan's archaeological heritage is pivotal to its tourism industry, attracting scholars and tourists to its historically significant sites. This paper examines integrating archaeological sites into Uzbekistan's tourism strategy, emphasising sustainable practices that preserve heritage while promoting economic growth. The study focuses on major sites like Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, highlighting the threats posed by natural disasters and human activities. Based on a workshop held in Bukhara and extensive stakeholder consultations, the findings underscore the need for robust disaster risk management, enhanced institutional capacity, legislative support, and active community engagement. The paper concludes with recommendations for infrastructure improvements, international cooperation, and implementing innovative crowd control measures to ensure the sustainability of Uzbekistan's cultural heritage.
