FROM AUTOMATION TO OMNI-CHANNEL RETAILING: LESSONS FOR DIGITAL STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION IN EDUCATION

Abstract

This study draws parallels between the evolution of automation and omni-channel retailing to derive lessons for digital strategy implementation in education. The convergence of technology and customer-centric approaches in retail has led to integrated systems that enhance efficiency and engagement. Similarly, educational institutions are adopting digital strategies to create seamless, learner-focused ecosystems. Using a comparative case study methodology, this research analyzes the transition from siloed processes to unified, technology-driven solutions in both sectors. Findings reveal key strategies, including data-driven personalization, cross-platform accessibility, and the integration of automated processes, that can be adapted for educational contexts. Challenges such as aligning stakeholder expectations, ensuring data security, and managing costs are also examined. The study underscores the importance of a strategic vision, continuous professional development, and collaborative governance in leveraging digital tools for holistic and inclusive learning experiences.
