Abstract

This study explores the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into vocational culinary arts education in Philippine high schools. Drawing on a systematic literature review, it examines the transformative role of ICT, addressing challenges such as limited technology access and inadequate teacher training. Insights from global studies, including the work of Albirini (2006) and El-Mawas, et al. (2016), inform the development of a model that leverages an ICT-based Educational Information System tailored to the unique needs of the Philippines. The study emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach, balancing technology integration with traditional hands-on training. The proposed model seeks to create a dynamic and collaborative learning environment, addressing challenges while fostering the seamless synthesis of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. As the culinary arts industry evolves, the model aims to prepare students for success by embracing both traditional Filipino culinary heritage and the digital literacy essential for their future careers. In conclusion, this study serves as a catalyst for advancing vocational culinary arts education, proposing an innovative framework that capitalizes on the benefits of ICT. The model envisions a future where Filipino students are not only proficient in culinary arts but also technologically equipped for the dynamic demands of the 21st century culinary landscape.
