Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper explores the vital role of museums in preserving and displaying intangible cultural heritage (ICH) in the context of new Uzbekistan. As Uzbekistan undergoes significant social, economic, and cultural transformations, the preservation of ICH—encompassing oral traditions, performing arts, social practices, rituals, and festive events—has become increasingly crucial. This study highlights the evolving role of museums from traditional repositories of physical artifacts to active agents in safeguarding living heritage. Key strategies include community involvement and co-creation, the use of digital technologies and multimedia platforms, educational programs and outreach, and robust policy support. By engaging cultural practitioners, leveraging digital tools, and fostering educational initiatives, museums can ensure the continuity and vitality of Uzbekistan's rich cultural practices.
