PRINCIPAL LEADERSHIP IN CRISIS: A PHENOMENOLOGICAL STUDY OF PANDEMIC-DRIVEN ADMINISTRATIVE CHALLENGES

Abstract

This phenomenological study explores the experiences of principals as they navigated leadership challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. It focuses on how school leaders addressed unprecedented administrative issues, including ensuring health and safety, transitioning to remote learning, and maintaining staff and student well-being. Through in-depth interviews with principals, the research captures their lived experiences, decision-making processes, and adaptive strategies. The findings reveal that effective crisis leadership requires resilience, clear communication, and a strong commitment to community support. This study contributes to understanding the complexities of educational leadership during crises and offers insights for preparing administrators to manage future emergencies.
