Abstract

This paper examines the scientific heritage of the Jadids and its foundational role in fostering patriotism. The Jadids, a group of Central Asian reformists from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, sought to modernize their societies through an educational framework that combined scientific thought, cultural awareness, and a commitment to social progress. Their emphasis on intellectual development, moral responsibility, and national pride offers a robust approach for cultivating patriotism that is informed and forward-looking. This study explores five key principles derived from the Jadids' scientific heritage: the role of reason and inquiry, cultural enlightenment, ethical citizenship, unity in diversity, and the vision of a progressive patriotism. By integrating these principles into contemporary educational practices, educators can inspire a sense of patriotism that not only respects tradition but also promotes civic responsibility and modern values.
