Abstract
This article explores the poetic dimensions of food through a detailed examination of metaphor and imagery in gastronomic phraseology in English and Uzbek. By employing a comparative analysis, it investigates the ways in which these linguistic constructs reflect the unique cultural values, beliefs, and social practices embedded within each language. The study delves into the interplay between language, culture, and culinary practices, demonstrating how food transcends mere sustenance to become a powerful symbol of cultural identity and a vehicle for expressing a range of human emotions and experiences.
