Abstract
This article analyzes the stylistic and pragmatic features of wordplay in the speech of askiyachi (wordplay performer). In the askiya genre, wordplay plays a crucial role in enhancing the expressiveness, persuasiveness, and humorous nature of speech. The study examines various types of wordplay, their pragmatic functions, and their significance within social and cultural contexts. Additionally, the research explores the impact of wordplay on the effectiveness of askiyachi speech, as well as its moral and psychological aspects.
