In this article, the author discusses the emergence of the Jadid movement and ideas in Turkestan in the early twentieth century, the current historical socio-political situation and conditions. It also contains the author's views on the activities of Jadid enlighteners in Turkestan, the formation of national intellectuals and the emergence of the national press.
