Traditional "Mashrab Parties" in East Turkestan

In this article, the Turkic peoples - Uyghurs, Kalmyks, Oirots, Uzbeks - live in Eastern Turkestan, today's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Republic of the great Uzbek poet and thinker Boborahim Mashrab, and perform songs such as maqam, muqam, mugam from the poet's ghazals. People read Mashrab's ghazals (mashrabkhan) in teahouses or hotels in tunes such as "Savt", "Talqin", "Munojot", and people listened with excitement to a great priest.
Residents of Iyla, Turfon, Aksu, Yorkent, Kashkar, Kho'tan, Gulja, Kumul, Ortush, Akshahr and other cities enthusiastically perform songs composed of poet Mashrab's "Qissai Mashrab", "Devon" and ghazals in his poetry.
