Main Article Content
Abstract
This systematic review explores the transformative role of TED Talks in enhancing oral communication skills within educational settings. The study investigates the impact of TED Talks on students' ability to articulate ideas effectively, fostering critical thinking, enhancing engagement, and promoting inclusivity. The review synthesizes evidence from a variety of sources, revealing that TED Talks consistently serve as powerful catalysts for educational enrichment. The findings demonstrate that TED Talks empower students to become more confident and persuasive communicators, offering them valuable models for structuring speeches and utilizing storytelling techniques. Moreover, TED Talks stimulate critical thinking by presenting diverse perspectives on complex issues, encouraging students to evaluate, synthesize, and express their own ideas convincingly. In terms of student engagement, TED Talks captivate learners through their compelling narratives and multimedia elements, motivating them to actively participate in discussions and reflect on course content. Furthermore, the inclusivity of TED Talks, featuring speakers from diverse backgrounds and addressing a wide range of topics, fosters a more inclusive learning environment. While challenges and considerations, such as varying language proficiency and the need for a balanced teaching approach, must be acknowledged, this systematic review underscores the tremendous potential of TED Talks in reshaping the educational landscape. TED Talks have the capacity to equip students with the skills and mindset required to succeed in an ever-evolving world, making them a dynamic resource for educators seeking to nurture communicative, critical, and engaged learners.
