Abstract

This research conducted a systematic literature review to investigate the integration of global perspectives into the Philippine educational curriculum and its role in fostering global competence among students. The study highlighted four key themes: challenges in implementation and teacher training, technology integration and the digital divide, curriculum alignment and 21st-century skills development, and cultural sensitivity and inclusive global education. The findings underscored the need for comprehensive teacher training programs to equip educators with the skills to navigate diverse cultural perspectives and address complex global issues effectively. Additionally, the study emphasized the critical role of technology in facilitating global education and the necessity to bridge the digital divide to ensure equitable access to digital resources for all Filipino students. Furthermore, the research highlighted the importance of aligning the curriculum with 21st-century skills and fostering cultural sensitivity through the integration of indigenous knowledge and inclusive educational practices. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders seeking to enhance the Philippine curriculum to cultivate globally competent, digitally literate, and culturally aware students capable of addressing the challenges of an increasingly interconnected world.
