EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP: A CRITICAL EVALUATION

Abstract

This study critically evaluates the relationship between emotional intelligence (EI) and transformational leadership, focusing on their combined influence on leadership effectiveness in various organizational contexts, particularly in education. The research examines how EI, including self-awareness, empathy, and emotional regulation, enhances transformational leadership behaviors such as vision articulation, motivation, and individualized consideration. Through a review of existing literature and empirical studies, the findings indicate that leaders with high emotional intelligence are better equipped to inspire trust, foster innovation, and manage team dynamics. The study concludes that the integration of EI with transformational leadership principles significantly contributes to achieving organizational goals and improving overall performance.
