Abstract

In elementary mathematics education, fostering students' interest is crucial for their long-term engagement and success in the subject. This article examines various strategies for cultivating students' interests in elementary mathematics classes. Drawing upon psychological theories and educational practices, it explores the importance of intrinsic motivation, teacher enthusiasm, experiential learning, and real-world applications in capturing students' interest. Additionally, the article discusses the role of supportive classroom environments and individualized instruction in promoting a positive attitude towards mathematics.
