HUMOR IN THE EARLY WORKS OF CHARLES DICKENS

This article examines the talent of Charles Dickens as a humorist using the example of his early works such as The Pickwick Club and Nicholas Nickleby. The author describes in detail the characteristics of the writer's humor, his ability to create vivid and eccentric characters, absurd situations and comic dialogues. Special attention is paid to the symbolic character of Mr. Pickwick, who became the embodiment of Dickens' humor. The social aspects of the use of humor in the writer's works, his ability to combine fun with criticism of social problems are also discussed.
