From Preparedness to Action: Effective Real-time Crisis Management
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study delves into the strategic integration of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) into crisis management, exploring its multifaceted impact on organizational resilience. Through a systematic literature review, four key themes emerged. Firstly, the strategic application of RCA significantly enhances crisis preparedness by allowing organizations to proactively identify and address root causes. Secondly, the positive impact of integrating RCA into real-time decision-making during crises becomes evident, enabling organizations to swiftly pinpoint the underlying issues and optimize recovery efforts. However, challenges arise in the third theme, emphasizing the complexities of implementing RCA in real-time crisis scenarios. Time constraints, information overload, and the need for quick decisions pose significant hurdles, necessitating a delicate balance between urgency and thorough analysis. The fourth theme underscores the influential role of organizational culture in shaping the effectiveness of RCA. A culture fostering open communication, learning from mistakes, and a blame-free environment emerges as pivotal for successful RCA integration. This study provides insights for organizations aiming to navigate crises effectively by optimizing the strategic incorporation of RCA. The findings highlight the need for a holistic approach, considering organizational culture, real-time decision-making demands, and a proactive stance toward crisis preparedness.
