Abstract
The study of various mechanisms of coronary heart disease (CHD) formation revealed a pathology in which
chest pains and signs of myocardial ischemia develop with unchanged coronary arteries, which was first
described by H. Kemp in 1973 as “cardiac syndrome X”. In 1988, S. Epsten and RO Cannon introduced the
concept of "microvascular angina", proving that the cause of the disease is a change in the microvessels of
the heart. The article presents various views on microvascular angina (MVA) , starting from the moment of
the formation of the disease, invasive and non-invasive diagnostic methods to the treatment and prevention
of the disease.
