Abstract

This article explores the abolitionist ideas in the literary works of Harriet Beecher Stowe and Maine 
Reed, focusing on Stowe's "Uncle Tom's Cabin" and Reed's "Quadroon." It depicts the abolitionist 
movement in 19th-century America, examining how both authors utilized their narratives to confront 
the moral and social injustices of slavery. Through a comparative analysis of themes, character 
portrayals, and narrative techniques, the article reveals how Stowe's vivid depictions of suffering and 
humanity, alongside Reed's thoughts on race and identity, contributed to abolitionism. The research 
findings indicate the significant role of literature in shaping public sentiment and advocating for social 
change, highlighting the lasting impact of these works on American culture and the fight for equality.
