FOLK ARCHITECTURE AND MODERNITY, BETWEEN CONSERVATIVE AND INTERPRETATIVE PRINCIPLES
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article presents a study of a new trend in architecture of the 20th and 21st centuries, first of all, it is about the interest that some experts in the field of architecture, construction and design show in folk architecture all over the world. On the other hand, the importance also attached by theorists, historians, artists, literary critics and sociologists to the folk theme pushes us to study the subject partly historically and theoretically, until a new terminology for modern folk architecture or simply Neo-folk architecture is developed. The article discusses the definition, branches and principles related to folk architecture, and therefore to Neo-folk architecture. The research is supported by the analysis of a number of examples, as well as the choice of a neo-folk project as a prototype that can illustrate, globalize and synthesize the general idea of the article.
