Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: Anatomy, Mechanisms of Development, Diagnosis, and Treatment
Main Article Content
Abstract
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), also known as Stein-Leventhal syndrome, is one of the most common endocrine disorders in women of reproductive age. The condition is characterized by multiple cystic changes in the ovaries, menstrual irregularities, hyperandrogenism, and metabolic disorders. This article examines the anatomical and physiological features of healthy ovaries and those affected by PCOS, alongside the key mechanisms underlying the pathology. The importance of early diagnosis and modern treatment approaches is emphasized.
