Abstract

This study investigates the application of change theory as a tool for driving school improvement and enhancing educational leadership. Change theory, which emphasizes planned, systematic approaches to transformation, is a vital framework for school leaders aiming to create lasting change in teaching, learning, and organizational culture. Through a comprehensive review of case studies, surveys, and interviews with school leaders, this research explores how change theory models, such as Lewin's Change Model and Kotter's Eight-Step Process, are used to guide schools through periods of reform. The findings reveal that effective leadership in educational change requires a clear vision, stakeholder involvement, and ongoing evaluation. However, challenges like resistance to change and insufficient resources often impede progress. The study concludes by offering practical recommendations for school leaders to utilize change theory to facilitate sustainable improvements in school performance, leadership practices, and student outcomes.
