PRINCIPLES OF URBAN ENVIRONMENT DESIGN AND THE METHODS OF THEIR RESEARCH
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article presents analytical methods and design principles that reflect the research program within the framework of the course “Study of the urban environment. Design of Public Spaces”, implemented by the profile “Architectural Environment and Design” of ANO VO “Institute of Business and Design”. The content of the course, which consists of two main sections, is disclosed: a pre-project analysis of the urban context and the organization of urban space within the selected site, as well as acquaintance with the necessary tools. The urban environment is considered as an integral natural and anthropogenic complex, the basis of which is the socio-cultural, scientific, industrial and technological potential of the city. It is concluded that a review of methods for studying the urban environment allows us to evaluate all aspects of urban planning in its phased formation. It is noted that pre-project analysis always highlights the main issues or problems of the territory, thus determining the main design hypotheses. Main scientific result: it is proved that the design of public areas (indoor and outdoor), attractions and structures is a focus on the social role in the urban environment to achieve environmental, socio-behavioral or aesthetic results.
