ENHANCING EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND LEADERSHIP SELF-EFFICACY IN COACHING

Abstract

This study examines the interplay between emotional intelligence and leadership self-efficacy within the context of coaching, exploring strategies to enhance both competencies for effective leadership development. Emotional intelligence, encompassing self-awareness, empathy, and interpersonal skills, is a critical attribute for successful coaching, as it directly influences decision-making, conflict resolution, and team dynamics. Leadership self-efficacy, or the confidence in one’s ability to lead effectively, is equally vital in fostering resilience and adaptability among leaders. Using a mixed-methods approach, this research analyzes case studies, surveys, and interviews with experienced coaches and leaders to identify effective practices. Findings reveal that integrating emotional intelligence training with self-reflective exercises and real-world leadership simulations significantly boosts both emotional competence and leadership confidence. The study also addresses barriers such as cultural differences and varying learning styles, offering actionable recommendations for implementing targeted coaching programs.
