Abstract

Sociocultural competence plays an important role in teaching listening, as it helps students understand the context and cultural characteristics of the language, which is necessary for the correct interpretation of audio material. In addition, knowledge of sociocultural characteristics allows students to better understand the motives and intentions of the speaker, as well as to respond adequately to various statements.
