A STUDY OF LEADERSHIP APPROACHES AND ORGANIZATIONAL ADAPTABILITY IN TIMES OF CRISIS: LESSONS FROM THE COVID-19 ERA
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study investigates leadership approaches and organizational adaptability during the COVID-19 era, focusing on how different leadership styles contributed to navigating the challenges posed by the global health crisis. The research explores the strategies employed by organizations across various sectors, analyzing the impact of leadership decisions, organizational flexibility, and adaptability in sustaining operations and maintaining employee well-being. Using a mixed-methods approach, including surveys, interviews, and case studies, the study examines how transformational, transactional, and adaptive leadership approaches were applied during the pandemic. Findings indicate that organizations led by adaptive and transformational leaders were better equipped to pivot quickly, implement remote work practices, and sustain communication with employees and stakeholders. Furthermore, organizations with a strong culture of adaptability and continuous learning demonstrated higher resilience and were able to maintain productivity and employee morale. The study offers valuable insights into the leadership practices that contributed to organizational success during the crisis and provides recommendations for leaders on how to foster adaptability and prepare for future crises.
