ADVANCING READING SKILLS IN EARLY EDUCATION: EFFECTIVE REMEDIATION STRATEGIES

Abstract
This study examines effective remediation strategies for advancing reading skills in early education, emphasizing interventions that address foundational literacy challenges. Early reading proficiency is a critical predictor of long-term academic success, yet many young learners struggle with essential skills such as phonemic awareness, decoding, and comprehension. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data from reading assessments with qualitative insights from educators to evaluate the impact of various remediation strategies. Key findings highlight the effectiveness of targeted interventions, such as phonics-based instruction, guided reading, and the integration of multisensory approaches. Additionally, the study underscores the importance of early identification of reading difficulties and the role of parental involvement in reinforcing literacy skills at home. Challenges, including resource constraints and teacher training, are discussed alongside practical solutions to enhance program implementation. This research provides actionable recommendations for educators and policymakers to optimize early literacy instruction and ensure all learners achieve reading proficiency.
